Mission Team #6 – May 2009

May 21-31, 2009

Pennsylvania Ave. United Methodist Church

Venezuela School Project

Part 1

Team 6 like team 5 came to serve and work and they did just that. Team six had the task to finish insulating the walls, finish up some wiring on the second floor, tape drywall, paint and install the drop ceiling. All this was done in 8 days. Each team and there effort saves so much money in labor costs for projects like this. Most important the teams come with a heart to share Christ’s love but leave with blessings only they can explain and share.

Genesis 18:3-5 “He said, “If I have found favor in your eyes, my lord, do not pass your servant by. Let a little water be brought, and then you may wash your feet and rest under this tree. Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way- now that you have come to your servant.” Very well, they answered, do as you say.”

These three men passed by Abraham to serve God and Abraham invited them so he could serve them as well. Service goes hand in hand and it is the Lord’s will for all of us to serve each other. Whether it is far away in a distant land or in our own country. This is the testimony of each team and each person who serves on a short term mission team

Part 2

Many people have fear to come and serve on short term mission teams because they are afraid that they can’t help because they don’t have the “skill” to do the work. I have always said anybody can do the work we just need the persons to do the work. This group came and were not intimidated by the work. They each brought the willingness to try new things and to learn.
