2015 Graduates

2015 Graduates

by Michael J. Miller, Jr.

Hello Sponsors;
We are sending to you a newsletter on our 2015 graduates. We have many more outside this because we are graduating students from 4 different High Schools this year.
All of our Sponsors who sponsor a child/children should be receiving a package in the mail from your sponsored child/children and know that they put a lot of love in their cards. We want to say Thank You for a blessed 2015 year!!!
Also all of our sponsors should be receiving an envelope from us with a renewal form for your sponsored child/children. Please fill that out and send it in for the 2016 year. Also inside that envelope there is another Sponsorship Form for a new child. We pray that you can help us conquer the long list we have of children waiting to go to school or to be helped out so they can study by taking the letter and giving it to someone who may be interested in sponsoring a child/children and learning more about Border Buddies Ministries. Just yesterday Glenda went to evaluate four children and when she showed up to this meeting she was swamped with well over fifteen children and parents asking for help. Our goal for 2016 is to hit the 300 mark of sponsored children. We are currently at 245 and we know we can hit this if every sponsor helps us to find another new sponsor by giving them a sponsorship form and tell them about what it has meant to you to sponsor a child.

This year we are graduating 22 students which brings us to a total of 66 graduates since we began sponsoring children.

This year we had a first for us. The Valedictorian- Estefany Quinonez and Salutatorian- Pamela Mendoza are both our graduates from Border Buddies. The top photo is only a part of the graduates as they were so excited to celebrate they took off on us right after the ceremonies. In the 2nd photo is Estefany Quinonez who graduated with 99.99% index. She is now sponsored by BBM with our College Fund and will be starting classes early January. She also obtained a job as a bank teller to help support her family. So she will have a full schedule of working during the day and take 4 classes per semester at night so she can graduate in 4 yrs. as a licensed accountant in business. Pamela will be starting College in January in her pursuit of becoming a Doctor. Many of our graduates would have never graduated without the help from our sponsors in the States. Just like the last photo. Emidio Baca seen with his family is the 2nd to graduate as we graduated his older brother last year through BBM and he is now working and married. Emidio wants to continue to College and his sister seen in the photo also a sponsored child by BBM will be following in his footsteps. It seems like yesterday when we were sitting in their 6th grade graduation ceremonies and now they are moving on in becoming professionals. All of these students have been a part of the program for 7yrs. or more. Each sponsored child can walk away knowing they can reach their dreams, accomplish what God has instore for them, and plan for the future in making change one person at a time. Lord willing they will reflect on these times when they get older and appreciate what they received and also pass this onto their children and grandchildren. What a joy every year to see the growth in each student.
