CAPTIONS:

1. Helping out the children. 2. Glenda searching for sizes for each student. 3. The girls love their new dresses. 4.  Even the teacher was blessed. 5. 3oo-plus students were blessed.

Many children that are privileged to go to school usually come to school with one uniform. After school the children return home and change out of their uniforms to wash it for the next day. What do they change into, but clothes that usually are torn or have holes in them. Many poor people in Honduras save a set of “good” clothes for special occasions or for church. So when we were blessed by the Lawrence’s in June with two suitcases full of new dresses and shorts for the children we were over joyed. They brought 400 sets of clothes. We combined these two suitcases of clothes with the other donations we have received throughout the year and set up 3 days of fitting and handing out these clothes to 3 targeted schools that we know the children are in need. The photos you see right is the Fuerzas Armadas School. Glenda, Carolina and myself worked on not just handing out clothes just to hand out, but to hug each child, spend time with each classroom and their teachers and also making sure the clothes fit the child perfectly. While handing out the clothes we prayed with each classroom and the children at the end of the handout gave Praise to the Lord in thankfulness for the blessings that have come their way. In the last photo you will see a young man who is blind. When I gave him his shorts I asked him to feel the shorts and I described the color and texture. He smiled and said I know.

CAPTIONS. 1. Helping this kindergarten class at Roberto Sosa school 2. We gave away baseball hats.3. Helping a Kindergarten school at Barrio Modesto. 4. First grade girls showing off their new dresses. 5. Handing out Christian handouts about the history of Jesus.

When we received the donation of clothes we never knew in how many children we could reach or bless. We were able to visit 4 schools and of children. When we ran out of shorts for the boys I remembered we had received a huge donation of hats. We didn’t realize how many hats there were. We had enough to hand out to all the boys from Kindergarten to grades 1-6. Actually the boys loved the hats as much as the shorts. They ran around screaming and showing off their hats. It was crazy fun. I think the photos say everything. The little girls walked out of the school with their new dresses on. The teacher allowed them to keep them on because she knew much of a blessing it was to the children. As we handed out clothes we handed out work books on the History of Jesus. It was for children and had games and stories inside about the life of Jesus. It was a good way for us to bring the word of God and also for the children to take it home and show mom and dad. Sometimes a child insolently can show the word of God to their parents. We were more impressed when the Kindergarten teacher said she is going to use the work books as part of her lesson. Could you imagine our teachers using Christian workbooks in a public school? Can you imagine our teachers giving praise to the Lord for the gifts? What would happen if missionaries would visit a public school in the states?  Has the focus on Jesus been lost?
