DONATIONS OF CLOTHES AND SHOES TO THE MOUNTAIN PEOPLE

By Michael J. Miller, Jr.

MATTHEW 25:40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

When Moses and the Israelites received the manna twice a day from the Lord, it was a miracle. When Jesus divided the fish and the loaves for the 5,000 and for the 4,000 it was a miracle. These miracles still are going on today. Each year and during the year we receive bins full of clothes, shoes, sneakers, hats and so much more. After each team brings these donations Glenda and I have the privilege to hand these donations out to those who are in need. These persons are from the Barrios we work in as well as LaPaz Prison. You would think that would put a dent into the donation pile. It doesn’t. So for the last 2 years we have been taking the blessings of the Lord to the mountains where our Boys Youth preach the Gospel to a very poor community. We had well over 300 plus people waiting in line for clothes and shoes. In one bin we had sweat pants. And what was one of things all the children needed for school? It was sweat pants. Incredible in how God works. He knew exactly what these children needed. Mothers walked away with scarfs, hats, and jackets because they are 6,000 feet above sea level and it gets very cold at night for this community. Our boys worked well into the night fitting, sorting and making sure everyone left with something they needed. When we arrived to hand these donations out we had 10 bins full. When we left there were only 3 bins that were empty. God still is multiplying. Not only in material things but spiritually as many walked away worshipping Jesus in praises for not forgetting them. It was a very quiet ride home as the youth reflected in what the Lord had done for them as for the people. Just like the Disciples were changed by the feeding of the 5,000 and 4,000 so were our youth.
