June 2013 – Last project and final test for our Technology Students

Psalm 60:12 “With God we will gain the victory, and He will trample down our enemies.

Yeovanny and Yoel are so proud of themselves. They are so close to graduation and all they need to do is finish their final projects.

Yeovanny's project is a double bed

As you can see to the left is a photo of Yeovanny’s project. Each student is given a list of projects in which they choose. Then they must draw up the plans for the project, make a materials list and then build it. You can see the talent some forth now. This is all done with a lot of love and thankfulness. Both young men are so excited to be this far. They think it will be one more week and they’ll have their projects done. After this they will go to work if they can find a wood shop that will hire them.

It has two drawers

The school does give them tips or phone #’s to ask for work and the school will all be their reference. In November is their graduation when they receive their Diplomas as cabinet makers.

Yoel's project - a kitchen cabinet that will have four glass-fronted doors

This is Yoel’s project. He is making a kitchen cabinet that will have 4 glass doors. Two doors on top and two doors for the bottom. The day that I visited them Yoel was making the doors and waiting for the teacher to open the door for the wood shed to pull out plywood for the back. All is left is to stain both projects. Many have written to us about these projects in if the boys can take them home and the answer is no.Each project they make is sold to customers and the money is put back into the program to purchase wood, stain and other shop supplies. The projects are sold at cost. We are so proud of them. Pray for them to receive a good job.

For 2013 we have enrolled two more youth into this Technology School and they will be studying electronics. We are excited to see what these two will become as well.
