When we brought in Yeovanny and Yoel into our youth group many years ago we recognized they couldn’t read or write much. We also recognized that their self-esteem was very low and they expressed to us in private that they wanted some sort of hope. First we taught them they need to put their hope in Jesus Christ. We then helped them to enroll into INFOP (technology school) with the help of their Sponsors. We taught them that they needed to keep their hair cut, attitude positive, be in class on time, and give their all in learning all they can while in school. It has been a struggle for the first year in trying to change them from their old habits. Changing them from a negative attitude to a positive attitude. We were teaching them what their parents were not teaching them. We showed up this year in September to check up on our two boys as we regularly do. The teacher greeted us and told us that these two were the best of the class and have sold all their projects and in turn it puts money back into the school. You can see their projects in photos right. These two will going into a “practice” during the months of December and January in where they will be working for a cabinet factory in learning how to build, work and live in a business environment. In March of 2013 they will be graduating and Lord willing working full time.
