Lunch Program Update

We had our meeting with the parents from the Barrio Rincon. It went well. We formed a plan that we think will work. The plan is that each child will have to pay $0.10 per week to receive the lunch program. The parents who work and can not help out in cooking the meals will have to donate food for their child’s class. For the parents who doesn’t work will be cooking. For example the 1st week of the month 1st grade parents will cook for the week. 2nd week of the month the 2nd grade parents will cook and etc. May 3rd is the kick off of the first lunch program in this school and in the department. We need your prayers. We have a lot of skeptical parents who are trying to put a negative twist into it. We want to share photos of the donated items we gave in order for this program to work. Please see below: These are the bins that will receive the donated food. They are labeled by grade for no confusion and also each grade has a treasurer to mark down who has donated. It is small but will be functional.

We tried to provide everything they will need to cook for 200 plus students. It is hard to believe from a vision in November 2005 to breaking ground in 2007 and in really 2 ½ years latter we’ll be kicking off the first lunch program. Completion!
