One Man’s Journey

We know that every person in the world has a story. Each of us has our own journey. I believe Michael Angel a young man in whom we met by word of mouth and by the same shared friends. Michael left for the USA free from drugs and free from gangs. When he left with his mom illegal he had know idea what was ahead of him and what was in story for him as a young teenager. Michael found that living in the states wasn’t that easy so he entered the gang life with the MS 13thst. Gang. The same notorious gang here in Honduras. After some years with this gang and killing and selling drugs he ended up in a NY prison and then later sent back to Honduras as an illegal alien. When he landed he realized the freedom he lost and the tough life of a Honduran. Michael decided to leave the gang at that point realizing that nobody knew him in Honduras. So with the help of his dad and having friends in the tailoring world he put out the need to erase his tattoos. One of our friends who knew Michael when he was young wanted to help and contact us. We were picked up by our friend and taken to Michael’s dad’s shop where we started the process of removing tattoos. After time Michael’s dad came to work for us as our tailoring teacher for our Saturday community program. Michael is in the process in cleaning up his life and also trying to become a fire fighter but needs to be clean from his tattoos in order to be accepted.

Because Michael can not handle the pain in removing his tattoos he now comes to our home and has them removed with an applied Emla cream to numb the skin. However it takes 4 hours to numb the skin. The right photo shows two tattoos for one. Michael tattooed over the M and the S with other tattoos.
The tattoo of the spider web means growth in the gang. The bigger the web the higher up in the gang he is and it means the age of a gang member as well. The tattoos on his fingers means from what area his group is from. His was from the Queens, NY.

We are currently helping him with a small business in selling used shoes. He also works for his dad in ironing the newly tailored clothes. Michael still needs your prayers. He is not saved and still has some problems with marijuana and with his girlfriend who is pregnant now. We witness to him every time about Jesus’ plan for his life but he is not willing to accept it. We know that this once young man in the states and lost in what he should become and is now in our path. God has a plan!
