Team #21 – Part 2 – May 2013 Pennsylvania Avenue U.M.C.

God always provides. We were praying for some of the team members to have electrical knowledge. God provided with these two brothers in the faith as seen in the top left photo. Randy and Dick rough-wired the two classrooms with their helper Rachelle as seen in the 3rd photo. When our volunteers come they probably walk away with a new knowledge in how to do something. All the classrooms we build have our signature style. One of our styles is framing in the ceilings of each classroom and then installing drywall. The reason why we do this is to control the sound level when it rains. Most of the Honduran classrooms don’t have the ceilings finished off because it costs money. So when it rains it is very noisy for the teachers. As you look at the photos the team members spent some time in framing in the ceilings, installing drywall and taping out the ceilings for a final finish. It is amazing in how God always pulls a team together and forms a bond between each team member during their 10 day stay in Honduras. Each team member gets to learn about each other’s personalities, likes and dislikes. Plus they have the opportunity to share their faith with each other and also to all those who are watching. The teachers, the students, parents walking by, and those who work at the school all are watching in how the teams get along with each other. They watch and witness in how they love each other, and have the ability to work together without fighting.

Some of the teachers ask me, Michael are all the team members from the same church. I answer no, they are not. Hmmm they reply. I ask why the question. They say as you know in Honduras if you are from a different denomination or belief you don’t associate with that person because you not sure if they believe the same way. It is sad in how the Body of Christ is so divided in today’s day an age. If the Evangelicals could only work together for the same cause so much more change could occur in their own country. Questions like this always give me an opportunity to share with them the Truth and how Jesus didn’t come to form a religion but a relationship with us and that our zealousness should be for Jesus not for our Denominational Doctrine. I know for a fact that Pastor Giron’s church has changed so much in understanding that they are not the only ones going to heaven and it isn’t just about building churches that we are called for but to build lives for Jesus and helping the children, orphans, and those who are incarcerated. God provides by not the work being done but through the faith, and love for our Lord in working for our Honduran brothers.

As you will see in part 4.
