With this team we were blessed to have teachers on team. I took two of them to meet the Principle of the school and to introduce these two ladies as teachers. The Principle asked the ladies if they had any questions. The two very inquisitive teachers asked a ton of questions in how was their curriculum, why did the students have short days, what was for the future for the children of Honduras, what kind of education the teachers have and so much more. When this conversation was done, the two teachers walked away with two hours of answers and but with more questions, with astonishment, and with fire to help more. So this brings me to the question I have under the first photo. Why are our teams helping children in the Barrios of Honduras and in the public schools?  Can you imagine the children in the States studying in classrooms the size of Bedrooms? Or studying with used books that are outdated, or sharing a desk with another classmate, or studying in the playground as seen in the 3rd photo? How about our children in the States gluing their shoes together with gum or walking with holes in their shoes? But yet these are the happiest children you’ll find. They play with a plastic tube for jump rope, play with a branch for a horse, or use a 2 liter plastic bottle for soccer. Our teams are taking the responsibility to share the Gospel by helping others with a, “desire in their heart.” This team framed in ceilings, installed drywall, painted, wired for electricity, and did so much more but the most important thing they did was to understand the need for more teams, the need to build relationships with the communities as seen in the bottom photo and to build trust  as they promise to raise awareness back home in why Border Buddies is here in Honduras and working with the schools that are very poor and in need. Desire!
